Baseball Recap: Mechanicsburg Extends Home Winning Streak to Nine

Mechanicsburg put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against the Fairbanks Panthers as they made off with a 14-1 win. The Indians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by 13 runs or more this season.

Crew Lafary made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Lafary was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four runs and four RBI. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 2.2 runs per game.

In other batting news, Conner Eyink was incredible, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3. Shane Eckstein was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI.

Mechanicsburg's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their hitting performance: the team's won by an average of 10 runs thus far. As for Fairbanks, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mechanicsburg will take on Catholic Central at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Fairbanks, they will be playing at home against Greeneview at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Rams will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
