Softball Recap: Rockport-Fulton's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Rockport-Fulton came tearing into Friday's game with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Calhoun Sandcrabs get on the board and left with a 2-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-0 back in March.

Rockport-Fulton pushed their record up to 23-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Calhoun, they now have a losing record of 12-13.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Rockport-Fulton will take on rival Ingleside at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Pirates 2.5, the Mustangs 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Calhoun is set to square off against their familiar foe Sinton at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
