Baseball Game Preview: Westview Wolverines vs. Columbus Discoverers

The Westview Wolverines will take on the Columbus Discoverers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Westview will be strutting in after a win while Columbus will be coming in after a defeat.

Westview took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They skirted past Concordia/Brownell/Omaha Christian Academy 4-2. The victory was some much needed relief for the Wolverines as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Columbus came up short against Pius X on Friday and fell 7-3. The loss continues a trend for the Discoverers in their meetings with the Thunderbolts: they've now lost four in a row.

Grant Zoucha made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Westview's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-12. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.67 runs across that stretch. As for Columbus, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-14.
