Recap: East Liverpool Potters vs. Steubenville Big Red
After flying high against the Toronto Red Knights on Wednesday, the East Liverpool Potters came back down to earth. East Liverpool took a 51-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Steubenville on Friday. While losing is never fun, East Liverpool can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 428th, while Steubenville is ranked 95th).
Nylah Mcshan continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Steubenville, scoring 22 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Mcshan has scored at least 25% of Steubenville's points. Another player making a difference was Paige Matteson, who scored five points along with five assists and three steals.
East Liverpool now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Steubenville, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 9-2.
East Liverpool will head out on the road to face off against Wellsville at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Steubenville, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Oak Glen at 7:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024. Oak Glen is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
