Baseball Recap: East Moline United Comes Up Short

East Moline United and Plainfield Central squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but East Moline United had to settle for second. They came up short against the Wildcats, falling 8-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 5-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

East Moline United saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Christian Peterson, who went 1-for-2 with one triple.

This is the second loss in a row for East Moline United and nudges their season record down to 21-13. As for Plainfield Central, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 27-8.

As of now, neither East Moline United nor the Wildcats have any future games scheduled.
