Football Recap: Clairemont Finds Playoff Glory Versus Calipatria

With a playoff win on the line, Clairemont rose to the challenge on Friday. They walked away with a 34-26 win over the Calipatria Hornets. The victory was some much needed relief for the Chieftains as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.

It was another big night for Tyler Allen, who rushed for 110 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 11 carries, and also picked up 52 receiving yards and one TD. His longest rush was for an incredible 70 yards. Another player making a difference was Bradley Eby, who picked up 88 receiving yards and one score.

Clairemont's win bumped their record up to 2-9. As for Calipatria, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.

Looking ahead, Clairemont will take on Maranatha Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Chieftains will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least 31 points in their last five matchups. Calipatria does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
