Baseball Game Preview: Lake Wales Highlanders vs. Mount Dora Hurricanes

For the second straight game, Lake Wales will face off against Mount Dora. The Highlanders will take on the Hurricanes at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Lake Wales is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They walked away with an 8-5 win over Mount Dora.

Conner Clark and Levi Cutts did most of the damage at the plate: Clark went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Cutts went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave Clark a new career-high. Alex Byrd was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Lake Wales kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Mount Dora's loss dropped their record down to 19-9. As for Lake Wales, their victory bumped their record up to 13-16.
