Volleyball Recap: Copper Canyon Takes a Loss

After flying high against Washington on Thursday, Copper Canyon came back down to earth. The Aztecs fell 2-0 to the Thunderbird Titans on Friday.

Ema-Lee Burke was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 11 digs and four aces. She has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last five times she's played.

Copper Canyon has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season. As for Thunderbird, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-11.

Copper Canyon didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Scottsdale Preparatory Academy on the 17th. As for Thunderbird, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Peoria on the 17th.
