Baseball Recap: Cedar Sets Scoring Season-High Against Pine View

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cedar). They blew past the Pine View Panthers 20-11 on Tuesday. The Reds might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by six runs or more this season.

Cedar got a massive performance out of Payton Ludlow, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those three runs gave Ludlow a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Karver Tom, who scored four runs while going 4-for-5.

Cedar was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pine View only posted a batting average of .241.

The win (which was Cedar's fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-4. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Pine View, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-5-1.

Cedar will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Panthers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
