Illini West is 7-0 against Liberty since January of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Illini West Chargers will challenge the Liberty Eagles at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Meanwhile, Liberty was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 39-34 to Havana.

Illini West will have to keep a close watch on Chandler John and Maddy Gibbs, a pair of players who had a big impact on Liberty's prior game. John posted 13 points and five rebounds, while Gibbs had four points and six rebounds.

Liberty's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Illini West, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.

Illini West took their victory against Liberty in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 49-29. The rematch might be a little tougher for Illini West since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
