Softball Recap: Chardon Victorious

Chardon's tournament run continued when they took on Aurora on Friday. The Hilltoppers walked away with a 9-6 win over the Greenmen. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hilltoppers.

Alexa Anderson made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up six earned runs off ten hits. Anderson was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gwen Boyle, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Gia Sharaba was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Chardon kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive games.

Chardon's record is now 21-8. As for Aurora, their defeat dropped their record down to 22-5.

Coming up, Chardon will square off against Lake at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Hilltoppers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Blue Streaks have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season. Aurora does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
