Baseball Recap: Muleshoe Takes a Loss

Muleshoe came into this matchup off a tough six-run defeat last Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Slaton Tigers by a score of 5-3 on Saturday. The Mules were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 14-6.

Muleshoe saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Yahir Quezada, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Muleshoe now has a losing record of 10-11. As for Slaton, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-14-1 record.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Muleshoe will face off against rival Dimmitt at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Someone's luck will take a turn for the better: the Mules have lost three straight at home , while the Bobcats have lost three on the road. Meanwhile, Slaton is set to take on their familiar foe Littlefield at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
