League recap: Murrieta Mesa's Omoto delivers best pitching performance from past week

Southwestern league recap: 4/3/13

Jordan Omoto was the top pitcher in Southwestern this week, leading Murrieta Mesa. He struck out seven batters this week.

Jakob Thomas was on fire this week, as he led the league with a .429 average, one home run and two RBIs. Meanwhile, the Rams put together a 3-3 week.

Vista Murrieta boasted the best pitching over the past week, holding opponents to the league's fewest hits and issuing the fewest walks.

The league boasted 14 .400 hitters over the past week. They were led by Tyler Wade, who hit .833 this week (5-for-6).

Jb Bernardy drove in four runners on Tuesday in Chaparral's 8-0 victory over Roosevelt. He went 2-for-3 and scored one run.



The Pumas' Daniel Rubio threw seven shutout innings in an 8-0 win over the Rough Riders on Tuesday. He pitched seven scoreless innings and struck out nine, while giving up one hit.
