Basic is 7-1 against Rancho since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Wolves will challenge the Rams at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Basic is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Somerset Sky Pointe, who was ranked seventh at the time (Basic was ranked sixth). The Wolves fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 3-2 on Monday. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The 3-2 doesn't really show just how close this match was: all the sets Basic lost were decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 12-25, 22-25, 25-23, 18-16.

Meanwhile, Rancho was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Cimarron-Memorial.

Rancho wouldn't go down easily and took Cimarron-Memorial into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 24-26, 25-22, 21-25, 25-19, 15-12.

Rancho's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Basic, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 22-10.

Everything went Basic's way against Rancho when the teams last played on April 4th, as Basic made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
