While Parkway Christian's win against Fitzgerald wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Spartans 6-4. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

The team relied heavily on Josie Boutorwick, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and two doubles. Iyanna Fuller also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Parkway Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

The victory got Parkway Christian back to even at 5-5. As for Fitzgerald, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-7.

Coincidentally, Parkway Christian and Fitzgerald will both be playing Detroit Cristo Rey the next time they take the field. The Spartans will host the WOLVES at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, while the Eagles will play them later in the day, at 9:00 p.m.
