Softball Recap: Salem Takes a Loss

Salem lost against Landstown back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Sundevils came up short against the Eagles, falling 8-2. The Sundevils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lauren Burchuk spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and six unearned) runs on 11 hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Salem saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kiera Dindial, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Salem's record is now 5-9. As for Landstown, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-10 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Salem will head out to take on Bayside at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Landstown, they will venture away from home to challenge Manor at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mustangs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.47 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of.
