Recap: Haines City vs. Gateway
Gateway won their last match against Haines City, and it was the same story this time around. Gateway were the clear victor by a 32-6 margin over Haines City. The success made it back-to-back wins for Gateway.
Gateway started the match off right with 26 first-half points. Meanwhile, Haines City couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 26-0 heading into the break. The Gateway defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 0 and all but finishing the match.
Junior Philip Bangura, who, was a major factor in Gateway's success. One of the most memorable plays of the matchup was Bangura's 75-yard touchdown rush in the first quarter. The win got Gateway back to even at 2-2. The defeat dropped Haines City's record to 1-3.
Next week Gateway take on Leon at 7:00 PM. Haines City will have some time to rest before their next contest, which is against Discovery in two weeks at 7:30 PM.
