Recap: Centennial Spartans vs. Midlothian Panthers

After flying high against the Joshua Owls last Friday, the Centennial Spartans came back down to earth. Centennial took a 59-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Midlothian on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Centennial can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 537th, while Midlothian is ranked 211th).

Midlothian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tevaughn Moore led the charge by scoring 15 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Moore has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jacob Almodovar, who scored 11 points along with four steals.

Centennial's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-19. As for Midlothian, they pushed their record up to 20-11 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.

Centennial will be playing at home against Burleson at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Midlothian, they will head out on the road to challenge Midlothian Heritage at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Midlothian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Tuesday.
