Volleyball Recap: Pine Comes Up Short

Pine suffered their biggest defeat since August 20th on Tuesday. They came up short against the John Carroll Catholic Rams, falling 3-0. The Knights haven't had much luck with the Rams recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

The final score came out to 25-13, 25-21, 25-14.

Karolina Swan paced Pine's offense, picking up eight kills. Swan got some help from Amelia Mitchell and her ten assists. Mitchell was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Pine's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for John Carroll Catholic, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-1.

Pine and John Carroll Catholic should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. The Knights will square off against Master's Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (157 vs. 375). Meanwhile, John Carroll Catholic (ranked 83rd) will meet Central (ranked 287th) at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
