Preview: ASU Prep Poly vs. Heritage Academy Gateway Heroes
ASU Prep Poly will head out on the road to face off against the Heritage Academy Gateway Heroes at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with ASU Prep Poly sitting on five straight wins and Heritage Academy Gateway on eight.
Last Tuesday, ASU Prep Poly beat Mission Heights Prep 51-43.
Meanwhile, Heritage Academy Gateway put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They blew past Canyon State Academy 57-22 at home. With Heritage Academy Gateway ahead 43-13 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Heritage Academy Gateway got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Landon Johnston out in front who scored 20 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Johnston has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Bowen Gallup, who scored 14 points along with four steals.
ASU Prep Poly has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Heritage Academy Gateway, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-1.
