It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Charlottesville ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Staunton Storm 7-6. The victory continues a trend for the Black Knights in their matchups with the Storm: they've now won six in a row.

Charlottesville's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Liam Frazier, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one run. Mason Divers also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Charlottesville's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Staunton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Charlottesville will challenge Albemarle at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games the Patriots have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Staunton, they will square off against Buffalo Gap at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
