Recap: Coronado Cougars vs. Silverado Skyhawks
The Coronado Cougars won against the Silverado Skyhawks last Saturday with 74 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Monday. Coronado managed a 74-70 win over Silverado. The win was familiar territory for Coronado who now have five in a row.
Coronado got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Josiah Cunningham out in front who scored 23 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jonny Collins, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds.
Silverado's loss came despite strong showings from Kayden Goss and Carlos Bradley. Goss scored 19 points along with two steals, while Bradley scored 12 points along with nine rebounds. Goss' trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcell Simpson, who scored eight points.
Coronado has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. As for Silverado, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-8.
Coronado will be playing at home against Desert Pines at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Desert Pines will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nevada Rankings (they are ranked 26th, while Coronado is ranked third). As for Silverado, they will head out on the road to challenge Arbor View at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Arbor View focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 last Saturday.
