Two dominant players in Caleb Marin dominguez and Koby Cervantes are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Orestimba Warriors will head out on the road to take on the Denair Coyotes at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Orestimba will be looking to extend their current 14-game winning streak.
In what's become a running theme this season, Orestimba gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They really took it to Gustine for the full four quarters, racking up a 74-30 win at home. With Orestimba ahead 48-7 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Orestimba's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Angel Reynoso, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Devon Bell, who scored eight points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Denair fought the good fight in their overtime match against Delhi on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 59-56. Denair has struggled against Delhi recently, as their game on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Orestimba's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.8 points per game. As for Denair, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-12.
Everything came up roses for Orestimba against Denair in their previous matchup on January 3rd as the squad secured a 82-35 win. With Orestimba ahead 53-16 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
