Baseball Game Preview: Key West Conchs vs. NSU University Sharks

Key West is a perfect 4-0 against NSU University since February of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Key West Conchs will welcome the NSU University Sharks at 7:30 p.m. The last three games Key West has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

If Key West beats NSU University with six runs on Saturday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. Key West beat NSU University on Friday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 6-4. The Conchs haven't had any issues with the Sharks recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Jon Carlos Lampas-Gormley looked comfortable as he tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Nelson Ong, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. What's more, he posted three hits, the most he's had since back in February of 2024. Roman Garcia was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

With the defeat, NSU University broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 7.9 runs. As for Key West, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.
