Basketball Recap: Eastlake Comes Up Short

Eastlake entered their match against Eastwood on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Eastlake Falcons fell to the Eastwood Troopers 51-47. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Troopers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 68-30 back in January.

Despite the loss, Eastlake still got an impressive performance from Braeden Quigley, who went 5-for-10 to rack up 21 points. Another player making a difference was Tristan Anderson-Edmond, who posted 11 points.

It was another big night for Devin Falk-Ramirez, who went 7-for-9 on his way to 20 points for Eastwood. The dominant performance also gave Falk-Ramirez a new career-high in field goal percentage (78%). Edward Avila was another key player, going 5-for-12 en route to 14 points.

This is the second loss in a row for Eastlake and nudges their season record down to 22-9. As for Eastwood, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 25-6 record this season.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Eastlake will be playing in front of their home fans against Odessa at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Eastwood, they will take on San Angelo Central at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
