Football Recap: Mount Tahoma T-Birds vs. Mount Si Wildcats
On Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, the Mount Tahoma T-Birds beat the Mount Si Wildcats 21-17.
Felix Diaz went supernova for Mount Tahoma, rushing for 170 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.9 yards per carry, and also picking up 38 receiving yards. Diaz really tore up the turf during one magnificent 80-yard run.
Mount Tahoma was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 270 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2023.
Mount Tahoma wouldn't let Mount Si keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Mount Tahoma can thank Shan Jones and Teaven Jones for forcing both of them.
Mount Tahoma's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Mount Si, they now also have a losing record at 1-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mount Tahoma will challenge Central Kitsap at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Mount Tahoma focused on turnovers this week as team gave up four on Friday. As for Mount Si, they will square off against Bellevue at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
