Softball Recap: Frankfort Panthers vs. Model Patriots        
        
		
            
 After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Paul Laurence Dunbar, Frankfort was happy to have turned things around  on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Model Patriots  a   10-0 shutout. That's more bragging rights for Frankfort, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
  Taylor Gaines made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run over five innings pitched. Gaines has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  pitched less than five  innings in three consecutive pitching appearances. Gaines was also big at the plate,  going 3-for-3 with two  stolen bases, four  RBI,  and a  run.
 In other batting news,  Annabel Young was  incredible,  going 2-for-3 with three  runs, a  triple,  and  an  RBI.  Sadie Dungan was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
 On Model's side, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Claire Garner, who  went 3-for-3 with a  double.
 Frankfort's victory  ended  a  three-game drought at home  and  bumped them up to 5-13. As for Model, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.
 Frankfort will head out on the road to  challenge  Danville at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday. Danville will be hoping to continue their five-game streak of scoring more  runs each  game than the last. As for Model, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Powell County on Monday.
