The Mechanicville Red Raiders will venture away from home to square off against the Hoosick Falls Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Mechanicville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.

Mechanicville took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Hoosic Valley a 20-0 shutout. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Red Raiders considering their two-run performance the game before.

Paige Rogers made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Mechanicville got a massive performance out of Riley LaPierre, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI LaPierre has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Addison Pane, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Mechanicville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .769. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Hoosick Falls suffered their closest loss since May 3, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of Greenwich by a score of 8-6. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Witches: they've now lost three in a row.

Hoosick Falls' loss dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Mechanicville, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

Mechanicville might still be hurting after the 9-1 defeat they got from Hoosick Falls when the teams last played back in April. Can the Red Raiders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
