Basketball Recap: Memphis University School Snaps 12-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Memphis University School entered their contest against Fairley on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Memphis University School Owls fell just short of the Fairley Bulldogs by a score of 50-48. The Owls were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2021.

Leading Fairley to victory were Brandon Chatman and Alarin Polk. Chatman dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Polk went 6 of 12 on his way to 14 points and three steals. Polk has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Terrance Adams Jr., who posted seven points.

Memphis University School's defeat ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-7. As for Fairley, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-4.

Memphis University School will face off against University School of Jackson at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. University School of Jackson will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Memphis University School surely won't give up without a fight. As for Fairley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Collierville at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday.
