Football Recap: Memorial Takes a Loss

Memorial lost against Springfield back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Red Devils lost to the Tigers at home by a 24-6 margin. While the Red Devils had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Tigers 6-0.

Springfield found their leader in sophomore Alex Caldwell, who rushed for 160 yards and a pair of scores. Those 160 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Caldwell. Eli Wonner was in the mix too, providing Springfield with one TD.

Memorial now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Springfield, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Memorial didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 24-19 win against Western Reserve on the 26th. As for Springfield, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 42-6 victory against Jackson-Milton on the 26th.
