Basketball Recap: Lamardea Anderson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead East Bay over Plant City

If East Bay was feeling good fresh off their 75-29 takedown of Jefferson last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The East Bay Indians took a 73-56 bruising from the Plant City Raiders on Friday. The Indians have struggled against the Raiders recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

East Bay's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lamardea Anderson, who went 5 for 10 on his way to 10 points and five rebounds. Nicholas Ghent was another key player, putting up eight points along with six boards and four steals.

Plant City got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Gavin Tinsley out in front who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Laurice Hamilton, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds.

East Bay's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Plant City, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

East Bay will head out to square off against Newsome at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. East Bay is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.1 points per game this season. As for Plant City, they will welcome Durant at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Plant City also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 66.2 points per game.
