Basketball Game Preview: Sigourney Savages vs. North Mahaska Warhawks

Sigourney is 2-7 against North Mahaska since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Sigourney Savages will venture away from home to take on the North Mahaska Warhawks at 6:00 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Last Friday, Sigourney didn't have quite enough to beat Lynnville-Sully and fell 56-54. The Savages have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, North Mahaska entered their match against Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont on Monday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. North Mahaska opened the new year with a less-than-successful 49-40 defeat to Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont. The contest marked the Warhawks' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

North Mahaska's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-1. As for Sigourney, their defeat ended an 11-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 6-3.

Sigourney came up short against North Mahaska when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 41-29. Can Sigourney avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
