Recap: Maxwell Wildcats vs. Perkins County Plainsmen
The Maxwell Wildcats won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Tuesday. Their rough 53-28 loss to Perkins County might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Maxwell can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 236th, while the Plainsmen are ranked 75th).
When it comes to explaining why Maxwell lost, one person who can't be blamed is Levi Huffman. Despite the final result, he scored 12 points.
Maxwell struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Maxwell's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Perkins County, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Maxwell will take on the Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Wallace is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak. As for Perkins County, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Rams at 4:00 p.m.
