Softball Recap: Caseville Comes Up Short

Caseville extended their losing streak to five on Wednesday, dropping them down to 1-9. They came up short against the Carsonville-Port Sanilac Tigers, falling 23-5. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-9 on Wednesday.

As for Carsonville-Port Sanilac, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-8. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by ten runs or more this season.

For Carsonville-Port Sanilac's part, they let Emilee Cole and Ella Grigg run wild. Cole went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two triples, and three RBI, while Grigg went 5-for-6 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those two triples gave Cole a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jeanaveve Trenaman, who got on base in four of her six plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.

Looking ahead, Caseville will be playing in front of their home fans against Harbor Beach at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Carsonville-Port Sanilac, they are taking a road trip to take on Mayville at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
