Volleyball Recap: Morris Starts off Right with Win over Manteno

Morris took care of business in their home opener on Monday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Manteno Panthers. Morris was shut out 2-0 the last time they took on Manteno, so Morris was just returning the favor.

Morris never let Manteno on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-22.

Manteno's loss came despite strong showings from Morgan Derrico and Danika Fletcher. Derrico had 16 digs and one assist, while Fletcher had ten assists and eight digs.

Looking ahead, Morris will hit the road for the first time this season to challenge Pontiac at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Manteno, they will face off against Milford at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
