The Bayard Tigers will venture away from home to take on the Sandhills/Thedford Knights on Friday.
Last Friday, Bayard was beaten by Hemingford 70-8. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Sandhills/Thedford put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Burwell 56-8 on the road. 56 seems to be a good number for the Knights as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Kyle Cox had a dynamite game for Sandhills/Thedford, rushing for 152 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries, while also throwing for 177 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. Cox really tore up the turf during one magnificent 75-yard run. A healthy portion of that aerial production (82 yards to be exact) went to Ross Martindale, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Sandhills/Thedford was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 208 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 188 rushing yards in 12 consecutive games dating back to last season.
