Baseball Game Preview: South Spartans vs. Banning Pilots

The South Spartans will face off against the Banning Pilots at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

If South beats Banning with 11 runs on Saturday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. The Spartans came out on top against Wiseburn- Da Vinci by a score of 11-7 on Friday. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Wolves recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Banning beat Legacy 5-1 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pilots.

Banning saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was AJ Herrera, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

South's win bumped their record up to 12-10. As for Banning, their victory bumped their record up to 13-8.

South skirted past Banning 2-1 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Do the Spartans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pilots turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
