Baseball Recap: Meridian Takes a Loss

Meridian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Tuscola Warriors, falling 13-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Hawks have suffered against the Warriors since May 14, 2021.

Ted Jones was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season.

Meridian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Tuscola, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 5-10.

Coming up, Meridian will welcome Shelbyville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Tuscola, they will head out to take on Georgetown-Ridge Farm/Chrisman at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Buffaloes have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.2 runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of.
