Soccer Game Preview: Grand Prairie vs. Lamar

The Grand Prairie Gophers will face off against the Lamar Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Grand Prairie managed to keep up with Arlington until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Grand Prairie came up short against Arlington, falling 3-0.

Meanwhile, Lamar hasn't lost a match since January 24th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand Bowie a 1-0 shutout. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 130th, while the Volunteers are ranked 414th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lamar's victory bumped their record up to 7-1-7. As for Grand Prairie, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8-8.
