The Ardrey Kell Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They fell 71-60 to Charlotte Catholic. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
When it comes to explaining why Ardrey Kell lost, one person who can't be blamed is Caden Caskey. Despite the final result, he scored 27 points. Caskey scored a full 45% of Ardrey Kell's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Delani Hammonds, who scored 10 points along with 7 assists and 6 rebounds.
Charlotte Catholic got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Eddie David out in front who scored 18 points along with 4 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Eagan, who scored 16 points along with 8 rebounds.
Ardrey Kell's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Charlotte Catholic, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Ardrey Kell will look to defend their home court on Friday against Comenius at 7:00 p.m. Comenius presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Ardrey Kell in their respective states (Comenius is ranked 94th in South Carolina, while Ardrey Kell is ranked 223rd in North Carolina). Charlotte Catholic is on the road again on Friday and play against Christ the King at 6:30 p.m. on December 1st.
