Basketball Game Preview: Newport Harbor Sailors vs. Fountain Valley Barons

The Newport Harbor Sailors will head out on the road to square off against the Fountain Valley Barons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fountain Valley took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Newport Harbor, who comes in off a win.

Last Wednesday, the stars were shining brightly for Newport Harbor in a 60-43 win over Marina.

Meanwhile, Fountain Valley entered their contest against Edison on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Fountain Valley took a 61-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of Edison. The matchup marked the Barons' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Newport Harbor pushed their record up to 10-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.2 points per game. As for Fountain Valley, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-3.

Newport Harbor strolled past Fountain Valley when the teams last played back in February by a score of 77-62. The rematch might be a little tougher for Newport Harbor since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
