Garden Valley's game on Friday was close up to the half, but then they kicked things up a notch. They put the hurt on the Notus Pirates with a sharp 34-14 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Wolverines, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Garden Valley didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Madix Miller and Cody Perrin.

Notus' loss came despite strong showings from Mark Lungu and Anthony Guevera. Lungu rushed for 122 yards and one score, while Guevera rushed for 58 yards and one touchdown.

Garden Valley has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Garden Valley will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Varsity Opponent at 7:00 p.m. on the 12th. As for Notus, they will head out to challenge Raft River at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
