Basketball Recap: Sultana Sultans vs. Beaumont Cougars
Sultana was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 74-61 to the Beaumont Cougars. The Sultans lost against the Cougars in their previous head to head back in November of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 78-23 score last time.
Despite the loss, Sultana had strong showings from Kenyon Peters, who earned 21 points, and Jett Dimmick, who earned 18 points. Mikey Munoz was another key player, scoring six points.
Sultana's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Beaumont, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Sultana will square off against Hemet at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Beaumont, their road trip will continue as they head out to face Moreno Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
