Baseball Game Preview: Sylacauga Aggies vs. Central of Clay County Volunteers

For the second straight game, Sylacauga will face off against Central of Clay County. The Aggies will face off against the Volunteers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Sylacauga got their first taste of in-conference action on Tuesday and they started things off strong. They came out on top against Central of Clay County by a score of 8-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Aggies.

Brady Thomas spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits. He has become a key player for Sylacauga: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 10-11 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Hunter Mims, who scored a run while going 1-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Judson Howell was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Sylacauga now has a winning record of 13-12. As for Central of Clay County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season.
