Football Recap: Marlin Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Marlin can now relate to. They were outmatched by the Ganado Indians and fell 42-14. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Bulldogs, who until this matchup were averaging 14.57 points allowed.

Roderick Suiters and De'Angelo Wright certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Suiters rushed for 54 yards and one touchdown, while Wright gained 110 total yards and a touchdown. The dominant performance also gave Wright a new career-high in receiving yards (55).

Marlin wouldn't let Ganado keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force three fumbles. It was truly a group effort as Ty'Raun Bell, Jordan Womack, and Ivan Ricks picked up one apiece.

Marlin's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-4. As for Ganado, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-1.

Marlin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Ganado has also already played their next game, a 35-14 win against Joaquin on the 12th.
