Baseball Recap: Westmoor Rams vs. Priory Panthers
Westmoor extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 8-10. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Priory Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 back in April.
As for Priory, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games.
For Priory's part, Trevor Demkin was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. Those 15 strikeouts gave Demkin a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Harrison Kim and Lincoln Barnard did most of the damage at the plate: Kim went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI, while Barnard went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases. Those two stolen bases gave Barnard a new career-high.
While Westmoor had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
