Baseball Recap: Gresham Takes a Loss

Gresham dropped down to 5-9 on Tuesday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against Nelson, falling 9-1. If the Gophers were looking for revenge after losing 5-0 to Nelson when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Nelson, the victory got them back to even at 7-7. They not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 28th (when they won 11-1).

For Nelson's part, they got a great performance from Brock Neeley as he struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Those eight strikeouts gave Neeley a new career-high.

At the plate, Brady Barton was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Jack Kiesel was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one double, and one RBI.

While Gresham had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
