Football Recap: Covington-Douglas Takes a Loss

If Covington-Douglas was feeling good fresh off their 55-7 takedown of Canton last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wildcats were dealt a 44-14 loss at the hands of the Waukomis Chiefs on Friday. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Chiefs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Although Covington-Douglas took the loss, they still got scores from Rylan Fisher and Matt Casteel.

Covington-Douglas' loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Waukomis, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Coming up, Covington-Douglas will face off against Cherokee at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Chiefs will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight. As for Waukomis, they will square off against Coyle at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
