Softball Recap: River Ridge Hawks vs. Peninsula Seahawks

River Ridge had lost four straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped down to 7-9 to make it five. They came up short against the Peninsula Seahawks, falling 7-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Seahawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-2 back in April.

Jaylah Sok Vandergriff was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up just one earned (and six unearned) runs off nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one run.
