Basketball Recap: Columbia Takes a Loss

The Columbia Crimson Tide lost to the Dayspring Christian Academy Warriors at home by a 66-51 margin on Monday. The Crimson Tide have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Dayspring Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Noah Huxta, who shot 62% from the field to rack up 23 points and eight boards. Gabe Mellinger was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds.

Columbia's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Dayspring Christian Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Columbia will host Lancaster Mennonite at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Crimson Tide will need to watch out since the Blazers have now posted at least 55 points in their last three contests. As for Dayspring Christian Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against York Country Day at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
